What is lip blush?
Lip blush — sometimes called a lip tint or permanent lip make-up — is a semi-permanent tattoo. Using a digital tattoo device and very fine needles, we implant a soft, translucent pigment into the surface layers of the lip. The goal is never a solid block of colour. Instead, we infuse a subtle tint that enhances your natural shade, redefines the lip line and balances the whole mouth.
Unlike the old permanent lip liner, which left a hard ring around the mouth, lip blush works the entire lip as a soft gradient. The result is a healthy, blushed effect — as if you were wearing a tinted balm — that doesn't wipe off when you eat, drink or kiss.
Lip blush can:

What happens during your appointment
1. Consultation
Everything starts with a conversation. We look at the natural shape of your mouth, the colour of your lips, your skin tone and what you hope to achieve. This step matters: it lets us choose the shade and the shape that truly suit you. The consultation can be booked on its own (CHF 40) if you would like time to think before committing.
2. Choosing the colour
Together we select a pigment matched to your complexion and your natural lip colour. On the lips, pigment always heals softer and cooler than it looks on application, so we deliberately choose a shade that will settle into exactly the rose or coral you want. We draw an outline first, which you approve in the mirror before any pigment goes in.
3. Numbing
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied so the session stays comfortable. Because the mouth is a sensitive area, we reapply the numbing agent throughout. Most clients describe a tingling or buzzing sensation rather than pain.
4. Depositing the pigment
We build the lip in successive passes, gradually developing depth and gradient. The session usually lasts two to three hours — patience and precision are essential. At the end the colour looks vivid and strong. That is completely normal: it will soften dramatically.
Healing, day by day
The healing phase is part of the result. Here is what to expect:
- Days 1-2: the lips are swollen and the colour looks dark, almost too intense. Swelling peaks on the first evening, then eases.
- Days 3-4: swelling goes down. The tint darkens a little more and a thin film begins to form.
- Days 4-7: the peeling phase. The skin flakes gently and, in places, the colour seems to vanish. Never pick or scratch — let the flakes fall away on their own.
- Days 7-10: peeling finishes. The colour first looks pale, almost gone.
- Weeks 2-4: the tint gradually "comes back" as the skin regenerates, and the true, soft, natural colour reveals itself.
This is exactly why a perfecting touch-up at 6-8 weeks is built into the protocol: it lets us even out the tone, reinforce any areas that took less pigment and finalise the result.

Longevity and the touch-up
Lip blush typically lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin, lifestyle and sun exposure. The colour fades slowly and softly, never turning an unflattering shade. To keep it looking fresh, a single annual touch-up between 12 and 18 months is enough to revive the tint.
Aftercare
- Apply the healing balm we provide several times a day.
- Keep the lips clean and avoid touching or picking them.
- Drink through a straw for the first few days and skip spicy, salty and acidic foods.
- No sauna, steam room, swimming pool or direct sun during healing.
- Do not apply lip make-up until the lips are fully healed.
- Afterwards, protect your lips with an SPF balm to preserve the colour.
